Heavy rainfall in Lagos has once again pushed flooding back into the spotlight, and this time actress Cossy Ojiakor is among those feeling the impact firsthand. In a video shared online, she showed water taking over her home area, making movement difficult and turning an ordinary day into a struggle.
The clip has drawn attention not just because of who shared it, but because it captures a problem many Lagos residents know too well: when the rain comes down hard, the city’s weak drainage can leave homes, streets, and patience under pressure.
Cossy’s earlier posts had already shown how serious the situation was around her Lekki street, where floodwater made it hard for cars and even motorcycles to pass. The latest video takes that concern a step further, showing how the water has moved from the road into the immediate living environment.
The downpour, which started around Ajah in the morning, spread across Lagos and left major roads impassable. In Gbagada, cars stalled in the middle of flooded streets, with drivers stepping out to check for engine damage as traffic backed up for hours.
