Davido has confirmed July 31, 2026, as the release date for his sixth album ‘ORIADE,’ a royal-themed project tied to his Ede lineage.

Davido just gave his fans a date to circle. The Nigerian superstar has announced that his sixth studio album, titled ORIADE, drops on July 31, 2026. He broke the news with a striking video, dressed in traditional Yoruba regalia while a Yoruba praise chant played in the background, setting the tone for what this project is really about.

“Oriade” isn’t just a catchy word. It translates to “the crowned head,” a title tied directly to Davido’s heritage as a member of the Adeleke family, one of the most prominent royal households in Ede, Osun State. By naming his seventh project after this title, Davido is leaning fully into his identity, not just as a global hitmaker, but as African royalty carrying that legacy into his music.

His caption for the announcement hinted at destiny long before fame: a life shaped for the throne, long before it arrived.

Before the album news broke, Davido dropped his first single of the year, “I Know Who I Be,” teaming up with South African acts JAZZWRLD and GL Ceejay. The collaboration continues his ongoing love affair with South African sounds, a direction he’d already explored successfully with his hit Nakupenda.

Earlier in 2026, Davido teased that this new body of work would center on celebrating Nigerian and African sounds, a signal that ORIADE may lean heavily into home-grown collaborations rather than chasing international features.

This announcement comes on the heels of massive success from his last album, “5ive,” which delivered the global smash “With You” and powered a sold-out world tour, including stadium shows in Uyo and Ibadan. Expectations are already high for ORIADE to match, or surpass, that momentum.
