Angela Okorie accuses Zubby Michael of using her unreleased “Queen of Guns” title after she spent nearly ₦100 million on the trademarked project.

Imagine spending almost ₦100 million to make a movie, trademarking the title so nobody touches it, and then finding out someone else is using that exact name to promote their own film. That’s basically what Angela Okorie says happened to her, and she’s not keeping quiet about it.

The Nollywood actress recently went on video to call out what she’s calling a blatant theft of her work. Her movie, “Queen of Guns,” hasn’t even been released yet. No YouTube, no streaming, nowhere. She’d actually planned for her fans in Manchester to be the first to see it before it rolled out to other cities. But somehow, when people search “Queen of Guns” online, they’re finding content that isn’t hers at all.

According to Okorie, someone took an old movie shot over a decade ago, slapped her recent promotional photos on it as the thumbnail, and passed it off as her project. That alone would sting. But what really seems to have set her off is Zubby Michael’s involvement in a separate film carrying the same title.

Okorie didn’t hold back when she got to his part of the story. She questioned why he’d agree to be part of something using her trademarked name when he already had his own working title to promote.

“Even Zubby, you accepted that kind of thing. How dare you? You shot a movie with a working title. Why did you not use your working title to push your work? That movie is what I shot with almost ₦100 million, and mine is trademarked,” she said.

She also pushed back on how people label her whenever she raises issues like this. “Whenever I speak up, people say I’m a troublemaker,” she said, adding that she feels targeted by people who use their connections to fight her because they can’t confront her directly.

And here’s the thing that makes this whole situation messier: a quick YouTube search actually turns up two different films titled “Queen of Guns.” One has Okorie’s face on the thumbnail, uploaded almost a year ago. The other, uploaded just three weeks back, features Zubby Michael.

So far, neither Zubby Michael nor anyone tied to the other productions has responded publicly. Whether this gets resolved quietly or turns into a full-blown industry drama is anyone’s guess, but Nollywood fans are definitely watching to see what happens next.
