From a chaotic TikTok live to a Benin City bride price ceremony, Peller and Jarvis have written one of Nigerian social media’s wildest love stories. Here’s the full journey.

Nobody who watched Peller and Jarvis bicker on a TikTok live in 2023 thought they’d be watching bride price videos three years later. Yet here we are.

Habeeb Hamzat, better known as Peller, travelled to Benin City this past weekend to complete the traditional introduction and bride price ceremony for Elizabeth Amadou Aminata, the content creator the internet calls Jarvis. Dressed in coordinated Edo attire, surrounded by both families, Nigeria’s most chaotic digital couple officially stepped into a new chapter. And as usual, the internet had a lot to say.

Jarvis once admitted she was not impressed when she first encountered Peller. She thought he was rude and too noisy. He, on his part, remembered seeing her join his livestream with her sister, and the two just started talking.

That one interaction turned into a recurring online partnership. A set of 90s-themed couple photos they posted together kicked off two years of “are they or aren’t they” speculation across Nigerian Twitter and TikTok.

Even after Peller got down on one knee in December 2024, Jarvis insisted the ring was just a promise ring. Months later, she admitted on national television that it had been a real proposal, but that she had downplayed it because she felt they were both too young.

There were breakups, public confrontations, a fake pregnancy hoax, a money laundering allegation, and a viral incident at a concert that made many fans deeply uncomfortable. At one point, Jarvis said plainly that Peller had been denying their relationship publicly while expecting full commitment in private.

Despite all of it, they kept finding their way back to each other.

On June 3, 2026, Peller proposed properly, this time on a beachfront in Accra, Ghana. Jarvis later explained they chose Ghana specifically because they feared disruption back home.

Weeks later, the traditional ceremony happened in Benin City, with Peller declaring on social media that he had proudly paid her bride price and that they were officially building a future together.

Congratulations poured in. So did skepticism. Some fans prayed openly for the marriage’s protection.

Others questioned whether the ceremony was genuine or another content play. A few noted quietly that Peller had once vowed, after one of their breakups, never to marry a Nigerian woman.

The loudest reactions came from people who’ve watched this relationship unfold in real time and weren’t sure what to make of it arriving at a traditional altar.
