His upcoming project, ‘ORIADE,’ will carry only 13 tracks, and according to the singer himself, every one of them hits different. It’s a small change on paper, but for longtime fans who track these things closely, it’s the kind of detail that sparks real conversation.
Speaking with American outlet Notion, Davido described the album with the kind of confidence only he can pull off. He promised songs for women, songs for men, and songs built around struggle, a mix meant to speak to whoever presses play, no matter their mood.

The album title itself carries weight. When Davido first announced the July 31 release date in June, he did it dressed in royal Yoruba attire, backed by a Yoruba chant that mirrored the meaning behind ‘ORIADE.’ It’s being pitched as his sixth studio album and seventh project overall since he broke into the mainstream.
Ahead of ‘ORIADE,’ Davido already gave fans a preview of where his sound is heading. His 2026 opener, ‘I Know Who I Be,’ features South African acts JAZZWRLD and GL Ceejay, continuing the Amapiano-leaning direction he explored on his hit ‘Nakupenda.’
That South African influence isn’t a coincidence. Davido has been vocal about wanting African music to grow beyond individual hits, pushing for more festivals and stronger ownership of the culture by Africans themselves.
Beyond the music, Davido touched on something that clearly meant a lot to him: performing at the FIFA World Cup Countdown Concert in Los Angeles, even though Nigeria didn’t qualify for the tournament. He described the experience as one where he carried the country’s flag by presence alone, calling the atmosphere electric.
With ‘ORIADE’ set to arrive July 31, the countdown is officially on. Thirteen songs, a shift in format, and a clear message from Davido: this one’s for everybody.
