Brymo has reignited his feud with Burna Boy, claiming the Grammy winner bought his award and revealing a BET award offer.
Singer Brymo has just handed the long-running beef between him and Burna Boy its latest twist, and it’s a bold one. In a fresh interview, he claimed Burna Boy’s Grammy win wasn’t earned, but bought. He didn’t stop there either, hinting that awards shows in general aren’t as clean as fans assume.
Speaking on NotJustOkay, Brymo returned to the bitter clash that has followed both artists since 2023. He said he was shocked that Burna Boy took their public disagreement so far, and repeated that he would never name-drop him in his music.
He also responded to Burna Boy’s viral freestyle line, “hustle make you no go fall off like Brymo,” by rejecting the idea that the jab mattered to him. For Brymo, the issue is no longer just about a diss track. It is about respect, ego, and a feud that has refused to die.
Then came the sharper accusation. Brymo suggested the Grammy shouldn’t carry weight in his eyes because, in his view, it was purchased rather than won. He went further, claiming he’d personally been asked to pay $10,000 for a BET award at some point, a detail that, true or not, adds a layer of industry skepticism to the whole exchange. He also questioned Burna Boy’s core artistry, asking whether he can genuinely write, sing, and perform at the level his trophies suggest.
This isn’t a sudden falling out. The tension traces back to 2023, when Brymo accused Burna Boy of lifting ideas from an unreleased project of his for two songs on the I Told Them album. From there, things escalated, accusations of intimidation, jabs at other top artists, and repeated public back-and-forth that never quite resolved.
Burna Boy’s camp has largely responded through subtle digs rather than direct engagement, including mocking Brymo’s musical style. Brymo, for his part, has continued swinging, recently urging Nigeria’s biggest pop stars to stop chasing crowns and try something more original.
Brymo has now openly said he intends to get even. Whether that means more interviews, more lyrics, or something else entirely, the tension between two of Nigeria’s most talked-about voices shows no sign of cooling.
