May Yul-Edochie sues her former lawyer and others for ₦1.5bn, alleging years of online harassment, leaked personal data, and AI-generated attacks.
The estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has filed a ₦1.5 billion lawsuit, and the twist that’s got people talking is who’s on the list of defendants: a lawyer who once represented her.
Court filings show May, through her legal team at Greylaw Partners, is suing Emeka Ugwuonye, Yinka Omolola Theisen, and several unnamed operators of social media accounts. She wants the court to order a permanent stop to the alleged harassment and force platforms to pull down the content in question.
What stands out is her claim against Ugwuonye. She alleges he once handled a legal matter for her, and later used details from that relationship against her publicly, an accusation that, if true, crosses a serious professional line.

That’s when Yul Edochie announced he’d taken a second wife, actress Judy Austin, and welcomed a child with her, blindsiding May after more than 20 years of marriage and four children together. The story exploded online, turning May into one of the most talked-about women in Nigerian entertainment, for better and for worse.
According to a 126-paragraph affidavit, the harassment never really stopped. May claims she was targeted with doctored photos, AI-generated images, fabricated stories, and even death wishes. She also says her personal contact information was leaked, putting her family at risk beyond the internet.
She says she tried the quiet route first, sending cease-and-desist letters in September 2025. Instead of backing off, she claims the attackers simply opened new accounts to keep going.
Beyond the emotional toll, May says the campaign has cost her real money, lost endorsements and damaged business deals included.
May is seeking ₦1 billion in damages from Ugwuonye and ₦500 million from Theisen, plus court orders forcing platforms to reveal who’s behind the anonymous accounts. Justice Abdul-Raheem Tejumade Muyideen has ordered that all defendants be formally served, and the case has been adjourned pending a service report.
