Ayra Starr drops her third album, Starr Girl, on August 14. Here’s every confirmed song, feature and rumour before the Afrobeats star’s biggest release yet.
Ayra Starr fans have circled a new date on their calendars. The Mavin Records star will drop her third studio album, Starr Girl, on August 14, and the anticipation building around it feels different this time.
It’s her first full body of work since 2024’s The Year I Turned 21, and if early signs are anything to go by, this project is shaping up to be one of the biggest Afrobeats releases of the year.
Starr first let the news slip during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show back in April, where she revealed the album’s title and initially teased a July rollout. That date has since shifted to August 14, and the shift came with a reveal fans didn’t see coming: the official cover art, dropped across her socials and Roc Nation’s website.
The artwork itself carries meaning. Shot by Paris-based photographer Axle Jozeph, who also worked on her 2025 single “All the Love,” the image shows Starr in a purple gele, a quiet but deliberate tribute to her Nigerian heritage. Oyinkan Adeshoye produced the shoot, with creative direction from Peter Famosa, Richie Igunma and Ola Badmus.
Her first two albums followed a tight concept, each tied to a specific age and chapter of her life. Starr Girl breaks that mould. Starr has described it as a wider, freer creative statement, one built around “existing in multitudes,” and fans should expect a genre-blending mix of Afrobeats, R&B and dancehall-tinged pop.
Four tracks have been officially locked in. “Gimme Dat,” her Grammy-nominated link-up with Wizkid, landed in April 2025. “Who’s Dat Girl” marked her first collaboration with Rema in October 2025. “Where Do We Go” followed in March 2026. Most recently came “Tornado” in June, a Latin-percussion-driven cut produced by Skillies, Shizzi and RiotUSA, first previewed live at her NPR Tiny Desk set. Beyond these four, no official tracklist has dropped yet.
A live radio session on July 29 gave fans two more names to watch: “Misunderstood” and “Ms. Paper,” the latter reportedly featuring artist Theodora. Neither has been confirmed by Mavin or Roc Nation, so treat both as rumour for now.
Wizkid and Rema remain the only locked-in features. Names like Zayn, Leon Thomas, Doechii and Asake have floated around online since a June leak, but none have been confirmed.
With the release two weeks out, expect more confirmations soon, possibly around her August 21 set at All Points East in London.
