Mr P performed at Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies’ wedding in Paris, with teammate Jamal Musiala singing along to P-Square hits.

Weddings are known for surprises, but few could have predicted this one: a Bayern Munich footballer getting married in France, and a Nigerian music legend stealing the show. Peter Okoye, known to millions as Mr P of P-Square, flew all the way to Paris to perform at the wedding of Canadian international Alphonso Davies. And by the looks of the videos flooding social media, nobody enjoyed it more than Davies’ own teammate, Jamal Musiala.

Davies married his longtime partner Jenna last week at the elegant Château de Saint-Martin-du-Tertre just outside Paris. The couple’s love story has played out publicly since 2022, culminating in a New Year’s Day proposal in Dubai back in 2025. For the big day, Davies wore a rich burgundy suit trimmed in gold, paired with a cane, while his bride’s gown and headpiece paid tribute to his heritage.

The real showstopper, though, came when Mr P took the stage. Clips shared online show the newlyweds dancing to P-Square’s classic “E No Easy,” as guests swayed along. One guest in particular stood out: Musiala, belting out the lyrics like a longtime fan rather than a Bundesliga star just off a Bayern season. Mr P later posted a heartfelt message online, calling Davies “my brother” and praising the celebration as a beautiful tribute to love.

Despite the family rift, P-Square’s songs keep finding new audiences in the most unexpected places, including a Bayern Munich star’s wedding thousands of miles from Lagos. It’s proof that great music can outlive the disagreements of the people who made it.

It’s a small but telling sign of just how far P-Square’s music has traveled. The duo built their catalogue in the early 2000s and went on to become one of Africa’s most decorated pop acts, even picking up an Artist of the Decade honour at the MTV Africa Music Awards. Yet offstage, the brothers have been anything but harmonious. Their relationship soured badly in recent years, with public disputes, an EFCC petition, and even a decision by Peter to stop marking his birthday alongside his twin.
